​PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of information for completion of Federal, SALT, and international income tax return preparation. Review of all governmental filings.
  • Preparation & review of property tax filings for five localities.
  • Preparation & review of sales/use tax requirements for five states including meeting the SALT requirements for sales via an online portal. Capable to use sales/use tax software (Avalara) Additionally, international value-add tax review & recording of necessary related liabilities.
  • Manage day-to-day cash needs for eight domestic and international businesses. Review and approve payment requests on a regular basis. Access online banking for multiple countries & banks.
  • Daily cash-flow management and review monthly bank reconciliations. Monthly cash-flow forecasting & management. Investment of cash not needed currently in the operation.
  • Serve as liaison to governments regarding reporting for workers compensation, unemployment, payroll, and other tax & reporting communications.
  • Monthly accounts reconciliations and involvement in month-end close process. Prepare & review journal entries and perform various account analyses.
  • Involvement in the management of several retirement plans (defined contribution, defined benefit, and non-qualified plans). Prep./review Form 5500s, 8955-SSA, and other compliance needs.
  • Year-end audit preparation and management with the ability to work with “Big-four” audit firm. Preparation for quarterly Board meetings.
    Work on special projects as needed including design & implementation of functional process improvement and automation.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Manage several outsourced functional experts including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, a banking syndicate of four banks lead by KeyBank, Meaden & Moore LTD, DIMSA (an International financial service provider), Principal Financial Group, interface with actuaries, attorneys, investment firms and more.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three to five years in the Accounting, Tax, and/or Treasury Department of a manufacturing company, including prior successful management/supervisory experience, with a pattern of significant accomplishments, demonstrated strong communication, computer and technical tax/treasury/accounting skills.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Treasury or Tax discipline. CPA preferred. Master’s degree in Treasury or Taxes preferred.

The Tax and Treasury Accounting Manager must be professional, energetic, organized, accurate, discrete, confident, assertive, and able to handle multiple priorities.
